CAC Kickin’ Cancer is Fast Approaching

The third annual CAC Kickin’ Cancer Relay Event will kick-off on April 14, from 5pm to 1:00am at the DSU Kennedy Center Parking Lot. The theme for DSU Kickin’ Cancer is “Decades,” featuring themed laps to walk for the fight, which are designated as Toga, Hawaiian, and other fun themes.

This kickin’ opportunity includes the chance to raise awareness with help from DSU organizations and students, which have signed up teams to participate for a cure. All funds and proceeds will help assist the Lake County area towards the fight against cancer.

However, CAC needs your assistance! For the Kickin’ Cancer event, CAC will need a DSU faculty and staff member to volunteer to get a pie thrown in their face for entertainment, and to support the cause. If you know a faculty and staff member please encourage them to be pied for this helpful event!

Along with Kickin’ Cancer, CAC has been extremely busy this past month with conducting Purple 101, during the week of March 21. During Purple 101 week, there were vibrantly decorated informational windows within the Trojan Center, and purple signs were placed around campus to create response for the purpose of fundraising, and to promote the upcoming Kickin’ Cancer event. Even purple Kool-Aid was distributed to students in part of the informational session.

The Dash for Cash activity also took place, which included donation buckets placed around the community, as well as being dispersed in dorms to collect money that goes straight to the American Cancer Society. The collection for Dash for Cash totaled a generous amount of $386.81.

To show your support for the fight against Cancer, please attend Kickin’ Cancer Relay on April 14, to unite as a campus! For further information please contact [email protected], or Ashley Place the president of CAC at [email protected].
