It’s been a week since Destiny, the new Massively Multiplayer First Person Shooter from the makers of Halo, came out. And its popularity among DSU students is far from diminishing. A mixture of science-fiction and fantasy, Destiny takes players to a post-apocalyptic Solar System where they play as Guardians, resurrected techno-magical warriors that are humanity’s last hope in the face of complete annihilation.

While opinions about the game have been pretty mixed among critics, here in DSU people can’t get enough of the game!

“I enjoyed the game and so did most people I play with here!” Dale Frewaldt, a Game Design Student, said quite happily, “We got exactly what we were expecting.”
Although the game did come out on last generation consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3) as well, here in DSU the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are most prevalent. From freshmen to seniors and maybe even to a few faculty members, Destiny seems to have captivated the hearts of all its players on campus.

So if you are a Destiny player on DSU and you don’t have enough friends online to form a Fire Team, don’t worry. Just take a walk through the TC and shout ‘Destiny’. Chances are you’ll find more than just a handful of squad mates.
