Homecoming is a great time for communities to come together and celebrate by showing their school spirit. Dakota State University held its Homecoming parade this past Saturday the 23rd. People came from all over to show their Trojan Pride. Not only was the parade a great way to come together and bond as a community, but it was a great way to show off our amazing clubs and creativity with this year’s Disney theme. The floats were a way to bring us down memory lane by reminding us of all our favorite childhood Disney movies. According to DSU student, Tajia Schamp, the parade is a great way to connect with people our town. “I have been in the parades over the years, and it’s a great way for the town to see what we at DSU have to offer. I love seeing all the kids and all the fun floats.” Tajia has been involved in the parade for 3 years now. “A lot has changed over the years, I wish there was more participation this year. There were about 30 floats, but hopefully there is more in the future.” Although homecoming this year was cold and rainy, we can all be thankful that the rain held off just enough to show off our amazing clubs during this year’s parade.
