DSU Love Note: Friendliness

Why do I love DSU and Madison? Well, first of all, I grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School.  Yes, that was a couple of years ago, but after leaving the small town to go to college, I found myself wandering back to Madison.  Transferring to DSU was one of the best choices I’ve ever made.  I love the small town feeling of Madison.  Everyone in the town is so friendly, and it helps that I have a lot of great friends and family here!  Some people, okay a lot of people, complain about how boring it is in Madison and that there is nothing to do.  I myself am guilty of this too on many occasions.  But then I think, I’m so lucky to be in a town where crime is low, everyone knows everyone, and we have a great college.

I love how inviting DSU is.  Not to compare or anything, but coming from a private college to DSU, I feel so much more at home here, and everyone is much more welcoming.  My parents live in Madison, but I chose to reside in the residence halls anyway; I decided I wanted the full college experience.  The professors are also great!  Since I’ve come to the college I have not had a bad experience with any of the professors.  Usually you have that one professor that you’re not a big fan of, but that definitely isn’t the case!  They want to see you succeed, and they do everything they can to help you out when you are having a difficult time in class.  I cannot even put into words how thankful I am that I found a fantastic school. DSU is awesome!
