DSU Slated for a Full Opening Night of Basketball (Men's Preview)

Dakota State men’s basketball is back for the 2012-2013 season!

Head Coach Gary Garner will be now in his fourth season for the Trojans. The team is looking to build on what they accomplished last year. The Trojans finished the season with a 18-11 record. They won the conference championship tournament and went to the National Tournament and lost in the first round.

The Trojans are playing a 28 game season with four exhibition games, one of them being against South Dakota State. The Trojans start the season off with a four game home streak. They will open up with Oglala Lakota (S.D.) on November 1st at 7:30 P.M.

“We lost a lot of key seniors, so this year we are going to focus on playing team defense and creating offense off of turnovers,” said Garner.

The Trojans will take on NAIA powerhouse Northwestern on November 7th for their first tough test of the season. For fans, this game will be the second annual White Out game.
