The Dakota State University Women’s Basketball team has gone 1-2 in the last weeks. The Lady T’s played the University of Sioux Falls, Presentation College, and Martin Luther. The Trojan’s recorded a total of 211 points in those games, currently leads the NAIA in Free Throw Percentage, and are 5th in the NAIA in Field Goal Percentage.

The Lady T’s played an exhibition game against USF. The Trojans had a lead of 10 points but the Cougars overcame to win the game 78-64. Katy Pillar led the DSU with 17 points. Kylie Westover scored 11 points.  Alyson Drooger contributed 10 points off the bench. Cassie Jacobsen added 9 points. Dakota State University shot 42.3% in the game.  The Lady T’s were 22-for-52 from the field and also produced 16 assists in the game.

The next game was a win (53-35) against the Presentation College Saints. The Trojans won their 2nd game in a row. Kylie Westover and Katy Pillar each scored 17 points for the Lady T’s. Alyson Drooger scored 15 points.  Cassie Jacobsen scored 8 points. Dakota State shot 44.3% from the field by shooting 35 for 79 from the field. DSU was also 13 for 15 from the free-throw line and shot 86.7%.

The winning streak of the Lady T’s came to an end when they played the Martin Luther Knights. The Knights beat the Trojans 71-59. DSU shot 11 for 28 from the field with 39.3% and 3 for 4 at the free-throw line. Pillar recorded a double-double of 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Courtney Hulstein added 14 points. Kylie Westover scored 13 points.  Yui Onodera recorded 8 points.

Katy Pillar leads the team in both PPG (12.71) and rebounds per game (7.71), Yui Onodera is first for the team in assists with 3.46 APG, and Alyson Drooger has the most rebounds with 2.71 per game.

Dakota State looks to come back on Wednesday night.  The Lady T’s return home, hosting their in-state rival Mount Marty.
