We are less than a month away from winter break but don’t let that distract you from the awesome activities still going on in the community. From relaxing old school movies to exhilarating rodeo competitions here is what’s going on in November.

November 4th – 7th, Movies at the Sioux Falls State Theatre
After 30 years the Sioux Falls State Theatre has reopened. In honor of this the theatre is showing a range of films from family classics to action movies. Here is their current slate of films: Nov 3rd & 5th Fist of Fury, Nov 4th,6th – 7th Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), Nov 5th – 7th The Beta Test, and Nov 6th – 7th Chicago. Admission is $9.50 per ticket.
November 6th, Brookings PRCA Rodeo @ Swiftel Center in Brookings
If you are a fan of bull riding, horseback riding and barrel racing this is the perfect event for you. Including events for kids and adults alike this event takes place from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm. The contestants in the competition range from Champions to rookies in all different types of rodeo competition. Cost ranges anywhere from $12 – $38.
November 12th – 14th, Peter and the Starcatcher @ Orpheum Theater Center
The Dakota Academy of Performing Arts is putting on a performance of Peter and the Starcatcher. An orphan and his friends are sent to an island ruled by and evil king. They run into a girl named Molly who is a Starcatcher, someone who can find starstuff, a galaxy substance so powerful it they must stop pirates from getting their hands on it. The show is November 12th and 13th at 7 pm and November 13th and 14th at 2 pm. Admission price is $15.
November 15th, Jazz Ensemble Concert @ Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center
If you want to catch a nice, smooth jazz show the Larson Memorial Concert Hall in Brookings has you covered. At 7:30 pm to 9 pm on the 15th come catch the jazz performance. The admission is free.
