Homecoming Kicks Off with Crowning of Feltman and Niesen

Better grab your friends and get ready for a week of excitement here at DSU. Homecoming has arrived bringing with it many opportunities to get out and interact with fellow DSU students. The theme of this year Trojan Days is “Our Future’s So Bright We Gotta Wear Shades.” So put on your favorite sunglasses and get ready to have a blast!

Coronation kicked off this week’s activities with the crowning of the 2012 Trojan Days King and Queen. After a brief ceremony, the 2011 royalty, David Miller and Jessy Bos, gave up their crowns. John Niesen was crowned as King and Kelsey Feltman as Queen of this year’s Homecoming. They each represented the Student Ambassadors in the Homecoming field. John and Kelsey both appeared to expect bright things from the week ahead as they appropriately sported styling shades.

This homecoming week is crammed full of events. Starting at 7 P.M. on Wednesday night, you can watch the Volleyball team take on Dakota Wesleyan University in a homecoming match up. On Thursday night, students can get crazy and funky on the dance floor in the TC Underground beginning at 10 P.M. and lasting until 1 A.M. All the events culminate on Saturday with the DSU homecoming football game and tailgate featuring Kory and the Fireflies beginning at 1p.m. For a more detailed look at what is happening this week, check out the DSU calendar and keep an eye on your inbox for DSU activity postings.
