Indian Chef spices up DSU life

Trojans acquired a taste for the exotic this Tuesday as Sodexo’s International Chef brought a small sampling of the Subcontinent to DSU’s Midwestern palate.

Led by Chef Karl Benjamin from India, the Sodexo team pulled out all the stops to make lunch as authentically Indian as possible. From fish wrapped in leaves to lentil soups to the world renowned ‘Chicken Tikka Masala’ – the land of the Taj Mahal and Bollywood was well represented on the  kitchen that day. And it wasn’t limited to just entrees.  With Chai (milk tea), Kheer (rice pudding with nuts) and mango custards on the line-up of delicious foreign delectables, Sodexo made sure that desserts and drinks did not betray the Indian theme they had so painstakingly constructed.

From the line of Trojans present inside the Marketplace for the duration of the lunch that day,  it was abundantly clear that Indian cuisine was received rather well by the community. One can only hope that more special lunches like this will be arranged for by Sodexo in the future.
