Cortney Slaight

Do you ever have those days where you have absolutely nothing to wear? I’m not saying you have nothing to wear as in you haven’t done laundry in two weeks. I’m talking you have nothing to wear as in your closet is full of clothes and you’re sick of absolutely everything in it. This is a common occurrence for me. Times like this call for some inspiration from fellow fashion-savy people.

I came across this new website/app this summer and it has become my new addiction. The site is called, “Pose”. Think of it as a Twitter for those with style. I’m still figuring it out but it allows you to create a username and then “follow” others, much like Twitter. However, your posts are photos called “poses”. Simply snap a picture with your smart phone and upload it. You can add captions to give tips or explanations. It’s a way to share your ideas and fashion finds with others and get feedback.

There are a variety of users on the site: brands and stores, men, and women. Follow your favorite store to see what’s new this season. Click the discover tab to see the most popular “poses” from all users. Take a picture of your favorite outfit or pair of shoes and post it to see what others think. The site allows people to give you feedback or simply mark it as “loved”, very similar to the Facebook “like” button. Many people also use the site as a sort of shopping guide. Did you find a funky piece of jewelry at a cool thrift shop? Take a picture and tell everyone where you got it. Is your favorite store having a sale? Let everyone else know.

The site is still relatively new but if you’re struggling to find something to wear or have an outfit that you just have to share, give it a shot. Everyone needs a little inspiration sometimes.  Get started at www.pose.com and start “posing.”
