The Lady T’s traveled up to Jamestown, North Dakota to take on a tough opponent against the Jimmies. The women’s team could not keep up with the Jimmies hot scoring runs throughout the entire game. The Trojans were defeated 84-53. The Lady T’s are now 5-12 overall and 1-5 in the DAC.

The Jimmies came out hot right at the start of the game going on a 14-2 run. DSU fell in a 20-point hole right before the end of the first half going down 41-21. The Lady Trojans kept battling and went on a 7-point run to cut down the lead to 41-28 before halftime. Once again the Jimmies came out with a 21-8 scoring run to start the second half. DSU had an off night from the 3-point line only shooting 16 percent. The Jimmies in the second half were too much for the Lady T’s to handle with getting outscored 43-25.

“We just need to find a way to come out stronger from the start to the end of the game. We need to play hard all 40 minutes of the game,” said Kylie Westover who had 4 rebounds.

The top performers for the Lady T’s were LaTasha Dowell who had 12 points and did not miss a shot from the field, and Yui Onodera also had 11 points.

The men’s team looked to break their recent 5 game skid against the Jimmies. The Trojans built a good second half lead but the Jimmies rallied back late in the game to take down DSU with a score of 75-74. This put the Trojans at 9-10 on the season and 1-5 in the DAC.

At the start of this game, both teams traded large scoring runs. The Trojans went on a 21-9 run to start the game. The Jimmies answered right back before halftime with a 20-10 run to put them down by 2 at halftime. Just like in the first half the Trojans came out hot and built a comfortable lead, but let the Jimmies climb back, which allowed them to take the lead with a game-winning jumper by B.J. Mertens. Santino Clay’s buzzer beating 3-pointer fell short as the Jimmies walked away with the win.

The Trojans players put up some great performances. Santino Clay had 21 points, Mike Larsen added 17 shooting 3-4 from the arc, Jesse Bean had 13 and each of these three had 5 rebounds a piece.
