Lady T’s took on the Lady Hardrockers Saturday night in Rapid City. The Lady T’s struggled from the field as the Hardrockers took this one 78-58. This dropped the women’s team to 6-18 and 2-10 in the conference.

The Hardrockers had a fast start jumping all over the Trojans in the first half. The Lady T’s trailed at halftime with a score of 42-21.

Within the second half the Lady T’s did a lot better out scoring Mines 37 to 36. However, that wasn’t enough to cut down the 20-point lead that the Hardrockers built in the first half.

DSU had a tough night shooting only 24% from the field. Aneshia Starks led the Trojans with 13 points and also had 4 steals. Yui Onodera followed Starks with 10 points. Courtney Hamblin had 5 rebound in the game.

Them men’s team took the court trying to get back on track after breaking their 5 game winning streaks the night before against Black Hills. The Hardrockers were on a streak of their own, winning 7 straight and defeating the Trojans 81-65.  This loss dropped the Trojans down to 14-12 and 5-7 in the conference.

In the First half the Trojans were out shot by Mines. The Trojans shot 50% from the field compared to Mines’ 57% which gave them a lead at halftime of 42-35.

In the second half the Trojans were outscored again 39 to 30. The Hardrockers got to the foul line a lot more than the Trojans in this game.

Mike Larsen and Bryce Snyder both had 15 points. Larsen also had 5 assists. Jesse bean added 12 points and 3 assists.  Jordan King had 7 points and Spencer Adams had 5 rebounds.

This game was both the men’s and women’s final road conference game. They will both be looking to get back in the winning column next week as they finish the season at home against Valley City and Jamestown.
