With the school year in full swing make sure not to burn yourself out on homework. Check out these events going on in the Sioux Empire and get involved in the community.
September 30th, October 1st, 2nd, 3rd, The Premiere Playhouse presents Blood Brothers @ Belbas Theater at Washington Pavilion
The Premiere Playhouse is putting on Blood Brothers. This is the story of two brothers separated at birth. One raised extremely rich and the other raised very poor. This makes for an intriguing story as it unfolds. Most days have showing times at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Every day until September 30th, Buy One, Get One Free Museum Admission @ Washington Pavilion
Every day, until the end of September, the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls is hosting a buy one get one free ticket event. One adult ticket is $14 and you can bring a friend for that price. They are arranging daily events like science demonstrations, scavenger hunts, art projects and even movies at the Wells Fargo CineDome.
The Kirby Science Center and Visual Arts Center is closed Monday, Open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and Open noon – 5 p.m. Sunday.
October 1st, Rockestra Sioux Falls @ El Riad Shrine
This rock and roll event will happen from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 1st. It will be $50 per seat at the El Riad Shrine. This event will raise money for non-profits that are focused on community projects like building wheelchair ramps and providing scholarships to students. This is America’s first ever rock and roll orchestra and will be playing popular songs from the past decades.
October 2nd, The Price is Right Live @ Swiftel Center in Brookings
You have most likely seen the popular TV show where contestants guess the prices of everyday items like appliances, electronics and even cars to try to win these prizes. The Price is Right is being hosted in the Swiftel Center from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the cost is $39.
October 1st – October 3rd, SiouxperCon @ Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls
For its fifth year, SiouxperCon is back in Sioux Falls. This is the convention for people who are into “nerd” and “geek” culture. This convention includes gaming, artists, cosplay, film festival and more. This is an event for people of all ages. Tickets are $10 per day or $25 for the weekend. The hours for October 1st are 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. The 2nd is 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the last day of the 3rd being 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
