It’s that time of the year again. The weather is getting colder, football season is under way, pumpkins are being consumed by the thousands, and Homecoming week is now upon us. And with homecoming week, we have the selections for this year’s homecoming King and Queen.

On Monday, September 15, at 7:30 PM inside the Dakota Prairie Playhouse, the Coronation ceremony for this year’s Homecoming King and Queen took place. With a warming welcome by Marcus Garstecki, Vice President of Student Affairs, and the introduction of our Masters of Ceremony, Ben and Aeriell Jastorff, homecoming week was officially started. After some random animal trivia to lighten the mood for the crowd, the Homecoming Court was introduced. Each candidate was asked before the ceremony which animal they believed they represented. Lions, monkeys, bears, big cats and an elephants were all picked. Once the candidates were introduced and seated, the audience was reintroduced to the 2013 Homecoming King, Jordan Stewart, and Queen, Kayla Stoltenburg. When it was time to announce the new King and Queen, the crowd went silent. Walker Ruhd and Annalesha Kalis were chosen to be this year’s Homecoming King and Queen
