DSU Students Return from Area 51 Raid
On September 20th, 2019, a number of individuals traveled to Nevada in the hopes of partaking in a raid of Area 51. This event originated on Facebook as an internet joke in July that quickly went viral. The event was set to take place on September 20th at 3 AM. The event was titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us.” The description read, “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them
This led to a viral meme with 2.1 million people confirming they would attend the event on Facebook. With those numbers, it’s not surprising that a few of them showed up. Although the event turned into a music festival of sorts in Las Vegas to comply with the government-issued warnings to stay away, there were still some who showed up outside the gates of the facility.
There are reports that some were violently detained for trying to enter the gate. Among some of those who went to the gates were three DSU students. The students left
The students arrived in Rachel at 2 PM on the 19th. They noted that the residents of the town were not overly welcoming. They did check into the Little A’Le’Inn Motel, the only place in Rachel that welcomed the tourists with open arms. The students took a quick nap then began preparing for the raid.
One student brought a flashlight, another brought a set of night vision goggles and binoculars. They all had their own snacks/drinks and phones to record any mysterious happenings. They were dressed
One DSU student took out their binoculars, and another took the night-vision goggles. They watched the facility with interest until one saw something. While looking through night-vision goggles, the student claimed to see a flying devic. Another who was looking into the binoculars claimed to see something similar. The third student did not see the object. “I’m not sure what they saw, it could have been a drone or maybe a trick of the lights. I didn’t see anything.”
Another student believes it was a UFO, “I don’t usually believe in all of this science fiction stuff, but I’m sure that was a UFO. It was a weird shape and had all these blinking lights. I don’t know what else it could have been.” The other student was unavailable for comment. The students returned to campus Sunday morning and requested an interview with the Trojan Times. “People need to know about this, who knows what else they have in there? I know this all started as a meme, but I think it’s a lot bigger now.”
We are unaware what the students actually saw and we have no evidence of their sighting, but they believe firmly it was real. The identity of these students was kept hidden per their request.
