The Lake County History Museum and Madison Public Library are inviting the community to a free event that celebrates reading and storytelling. The Readers Fair will take place on Friday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse.

The event will feature a variety of activities including book signings, food trucks, and special guest appearances. Garrison Keillor will be speaking live on stage at 10 a.m.

and Christopher Paolini will join via Zoom at 1 p.m.

Attendees of Paolini’s presentation will also have a chance to win one of four signed books by the author.

There will also be book signings from a range of local featured authors, including:
Beth MacDonald, Domingo Rocha, John Nelson, Kevin Smith, Brenda Donelan, Emily Enga, Justin Blessinger, Theresa Schaefer, CK Van Dam, Jim McKeown, and Kerrie DeBerry.

This event is made possible by the support of Madison Public Library, Dakota State University, and the Lake County Museum.

With a full lineup of authors and a forecast calling for warm spring weather, it’s a good reason to step outside and spend part of your Friday at the Playhouse.
