On Tuesday, Aug 21, Madison hosted an event called “Downtown in Madtown” where the Kirsten Thien Band performed. The band played different covers of songs from all different genres including Country, Rock, Latin, and others. During a halftime break, the Madison High School vocals performed an acoustic version of Hey Ya by OutKast.

The event was just a concert though. There were a lot of stands selling food and drinks, (including) alcoholic beverages for those that were 21+). There were games for kids to play and Dakota State University even had their own stand selling Trojan merchandise.

This isn’t the first Downtown in Madtown event to have happened in Madison though. Starting July 17, the event has been hosted in Downtown Madison every Tuesday until Aug 28.

The final event will be happening again featuring the Guilty Pleasure Orchestra at 6 pm.
