Trojans Entrepreneurship Club to Host Shark Tank DSU
Big ideas are about to meet big opportunities at Dakota State University. The Trojans Entrepreneurship Club is hosting Shark Tank DSU, a pitch competition designed to spotlight student innovation and reward creativity with real cash prizes.
Scheduled for February 26, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in East Hall 100, the event invites DSU students to pitch their business or product ideas to a panel of judges. With up to $600 in cash prizes on the line, plus free food, drinks, and snacks, the competition blends opportunity with a lively campus atmosphere.
The format is simple but intense. Students deliver a short 2–3 minute pitch, followed by a 1–2 minute Q&A session with judges. Participants are allowed to use slides, and both individuals and teams are welcome to compete. Judges will evaluate ideas based on creativity, feasibility, and overall impact.

Beyond the prize money, Shark Tank DSU offers students valuable experience in public speaking, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship. Pitching in front of judges simulates real-world startup environments where founders must clearly communicate their vision in limited time. For students interested in business, technology, or innovation, it’s a chance to step outside the classroom and into a competitive, high-energy setting.
The event is organized by the Trojans Entrepreneurship Club, which aims to encourage leadership, innovation, and business development across campus. By hosting events like Shark Tank DSU, the club hopes to build a stronger entrepreneurial culture at DSU.
Students interested in participating can register by scanning the QR code on the official event flyer. With limited time to prepare, organizers encourage students to refine their ideas, polish their presentations, and take the leap.
