Sunny Side Up
Hello there. Freshman, are you? You must be wondering what there is to do in this little town called Madison. Well, I’m a Sophomore. I’ve been around the block a few times and explored the options – come with me and I’ll show you all the things there are to do.
Our first stop is Dairy Queen. You’ve really got to eat here, everybody does. It’s very popular and an experience you won’t forget. What? Yes, I know every other town has a Dairy Queen. What of it? I’m showing you things to do, would you please be quiet? Thanks.
Since you’re not excited about eating at Dairy Queen, let me show you something that will excite you. This is Classic Corner Convenience Store. And gas station, of course. But get this – it’s open 24/7. You can come here and get food in the middle of the night. Does anyone actually do that? What a silly question. Everyone who’s anyone does it! Once you’ve been at DSU for awhile you’ll see. You’re not cool until you go to Classic Corner at 2 am.
Tired of food? Fine. Let me take you shopping. Step right in to Lewis Drug and Pharmacy. Come along, why are you dragging your feet? You can find everything here from birthday gifts to cosmetics to camping gear to, yes, food – and you will find everything here because there isn’t anywhere else to go…but I’m not supposed to tell you that yet.
In order to get to Sunshine Foods we have to get through the traffic – Downtown in Madtown is going on. What? I can’t hear you! Speak up! Oh never mind, I’ll just shout. APPRECIATE THIS! IT’S GREAT! IT’S THE ONLY EVENT LIKE IT YOU’LL FIND! EVERYBODY ENJOYS IT! YOU CAN GET DQ ICE CREAM AND TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS- never mind.
You’ve heard of college students going on Walmart runs, I’m sure. Well, here we go on Sunshine runs. You can buy expensive avocados and use the new and improved self check-outs! A fun game to play here is ducking down aisles to avoid running into people you know – again. And again. And again.
Let’s walk down this sidewalk here…where are we going? Nowhere! Does a walk require a destination? I’ll have you know these sidewalks are well-loved by our student body. Walks are a great way to get out of your dorm and see some sights, like that road construction there.
Oh, you have to go so soon? Well, it’s been nice! I hope you enjoy exploring our town, and remember: if you get bored, there’s a Chick-Fil-A at SDSU and it’s only a 45 minute drive away!
