CLUB ACTIVITIES FAIR FALL 2025

The West Lawn of the Trojan Center was alive with energy during Dakota State University’s Club Activities Fair. More than 30 clubs and associations lined the lawn, their tables packed with displays, flyers, snacks and activities as students explored what the clubs had to offer.

Almost every club joined the fair. Longtime favorites like the Student Activities Board (SAB) and the LCA Film Club drew steady attention throughout the fair. While new groups such as the Entrepreneur Club made their debut, revived organizations, including the Black Student Union (BSU), also returned brought back fresh energy, demonstrating that campus involvement is still evolving.
The fair was populated with clubs from different fields. Student participation was high in tech-focused groups like Computer Club and AI Club, but creative institutions like DSU Sound Labs provided them with a second chance to collaborate and share ideas. The lineup reflected the range of opportunities available, giving students plenty of ways to connect with peers and pursue their interests. Some stalls even offered part-time job opportunities for students hoping to work while they study, adding a practical layer to the fair.

Several clubs went beyond the use of flyers to gain recognition. The Computer Club set up a “Monkeytype” challenge, where students tested their typing speed, trying their hardest to flex their fastest scores. The Art Club rolled out a giant sheet of paper and invited student, encouraging them to create brief sketches and doodles. The International Club displayed flags from around the world offering candy to anyone who could guess them correctly. Each display gave students a glimpse of the club’s personality while drawing in potential members.

It was a lively and warm atmosphere. Students wandered from table to table, often stopping at several, chatting with club leaders and reconnecting with friends. The fair offered more than just networking opportunities, as it also served as a platform for individuals to meet new people and make friends beyond sign-up sheets.

By the end of the event, QR codes had been scanned, “Discord” channels had begun filling with new members, and signup sheets were covered with pages of names. The event once again proved to be one of DSU’s most popular gatherings of the semester, giving first-year students an introduction to campus life and returning students a chance to discover something new.

Once again, the West Lawn was occupied by students who were presented with flyers and excited for new opportunities at the fair, as involvement and community continued to be integral parts of DSU’s culture.
