Those who wish to stay active and occupy their free time will be pleased to learn that intramural sports will soon be returning to DSU.

The first sports on the agenda are men’s flag football and co-ed volleyball, both of which run from September 13 through October. Those who wish to participate in flag football must register by noon on September 12. From there, there will be a team captains meeting at 5:30 P.M. on September 13 at the Thue Softball Complex, where the games will be held on Tuesday nights. Meanwhile, those who opt for volleyball will play their games at the Community Center.

There will also be a co-ed Homecoming softball tournament ranging from September 20 to September 22. Just like flag football, games will also be held at the Thue Softball Complex. Those who wish to participate in this event must register by noon on September 19.

After the fall sports, the James Naismith-created sport, basketball, begins (according to CBC News). There will be a co-ed version running from November to December. After a little break between semesters, men and women’s leagues will play from January to March. A smaller, three-on-three version of basketball will be offered in February.
Those who wish to show off a little of their inner Steve Kerr (the all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage, according to NBA.com) may do so in the three-point contest in February.

Just in time for spring, co-ed softball (although the ball itself is harder than a baseball) will be played in April.

Those who wish to register for any of these sports may do so at the following site: http://www.clubs.dsu.edu/intramural/onlineRegistration.htm.
