Love Letter: Dakota State Sports

Whether it involves balls, bats, or batons; I love sports here at Dakota State!! When the leaves are changing and the weather is getting slightly colder, I enjoy going to the home football games at Trojan field. There is nothing like cheering for your football squad as they battle the opposing team. The fall is also home to the sport I love the most, Cross Country (mostly because I’m in it). It might not be a huge spectator sport, but there is no better feeling then when you finish a hard 5 mile race. Another great thing about fall is Volleyball (I’m not just saying that because of the girls in spandex)! It is exciting to watch our volleyball team as they competed against some really good competition.

Then winter comes and so does basketball!! I swear there is a highlight play at every home game I attend for the men! Whether there is an alley-oop dunk or a monster block, a DSU men’s game is always a great show. Our Lady T’s have a great team too. They have had some very close games at the DSU Fieldhouse that were pleasing to watch. Also debuting in winter, indoor track starts. Not many people hear about us running, but we have had great success this year. I love watching my teammates pushing themselves to get better and seeing them perform at the highest level they can!!

With spring around the corner, I can’t wait for baseball, softball, and outdoor track. I really hope that this spring brings good weather and I can attend some great events!!
