On October 1st, DSU students donned their fine suits, printed their resumes, and headed to the Prairie Playhouse. At the playhouse, companies were eagerly waiting for the students. Each company had its own stall where one could see representatives talking with the students about the job opportunities present in the company. At one of the stalls, a current student could be seen representing his employer. Furthermore, preparations for the fair were already underway a week before.

With events like Resume Rave Week, students got an opportunity to have their resumes reviewed by industry professionals. A mock interview session was also hosted, where students could register to have a mock interview with a select company. One student, relating his experience with the mock interview session, told how he even got invited for a coffee chat with one of the mock interviewers for a possible internship opportunity.

With all these preparations already on the way, students definitely felt confident at the fair. Students could be seen in stalls, having conversations with representatives. Altogether, more than 40 companies were present for the fall, which is an upgrade from the spring career fair.

Excitement was palpable in the Playhouse. Students exchanged business cards and discussed their goals. Students were also excited for company merchandise and companies could be seen happy to give them. In the fair, First-year students got to familiarize themselves with the hiring process for the first time, while for seniors, it was a pivotal moment to make a lasting impression.

The fair was a resounding success. On the whole, students loved the atmosphere and the opportunity presented by DSU to further their career goals. However, students did note the lack of larger companies. They definitely would like to see more diverse companies from all around the country.
